Girl Friday just finished a totally FUN marketing project – yes, you read that right – Marketing is Fun! for a new client, The dirt DIVA, aka Annie Spiegelman. Annie is a best-selling author, Master Gardener, mom, activist and an all-around groovy gal…in other words, a dream client for Girl Friday! Why is she a marketing maven’s dream come true? Because Annie is a writer, and the combination of her sparkling and witty prose, in combination with keyword research and SEO tools applied to the back-end of her website, got her on the way to optimizing her site in preparation for her forthcoming book.

In addition to the content and keyword/title/description work we did, I also explained to Annie the many benefits of having a blog (she’s a SHOE-IN for a blog, for gosh sakes, she is a newspaper columnist!), but at this point she’s too busy writing her book. OK – no problem. But one of my Life’s Goals is to get her blog set-up, and she has agreed to do that in a few months. When that happens, my Life will be complete. OK – so I exaggerate!! In any case, we are also embarking on some link-building strategies that should also help Annie’s site gain more traffic. After all, she has some LOVELY organic cotton gardening hats for sale!! Hey Annie – I forgot to ask you – send me a hat! I am now an official Dirt Diva!

Another fun thing about Annie and her site, is the retro-look graphics, a Girl Friday speciality. I didn’t design the site, but I sure enjoyed living on Planet Annie, a flowery and fun place for all things….compost. Mmmmmm…I LOVE compost!! Honest. I do. No….REALLY!!!
