CONFIDENTIAL: Girl Friday’s Maui Office Inspection Report

by admin
August 27th, 2011

Well, it was time for Girl Friday to take matters into her own hands and visit the beautiful Maui island for her Annual Offshore Office Inspection. Although we have a Junior Executive Assistant (code-named named “Gigi”) keeping things in order and making sure all is running smoothly, it falls into the hands of the Chief Executive Officer to insure all systems are efficiently and effectively operating. Someone’s gotta do it, and Girl Friday’s just the one. Here’s my checklist; feel free to use it for your own Offshore Office Inspection:

Premises:

    1. Beach sand just as golden, ocean waves more than sufficiently powerful, sky maintaining the perfect blue color with exceptional white/fluffy cloud ratio. Bonus points for: Rainfall during sunshine, occurring daily, and resulting in spectacular rainbows.
    2. Picnic Bench Desk: spectacular view still intact.
    3. Beach Chair Satellite Desk: portability critical for re-locating between sun and shady tree, and from rising tides.

Provisions:

    1. “BadAss” Coffee in copious amounts continues at the beach/office location (see photo evidence); note: not a slang term to describe the quality of the coffee – “BadAss” is the actual name of the product. However, the name is the perfect descriptive term and from a marketing standpoint is as memorable as the product itself. Kudos to them.
    2. Coconut: Last year’s research into Coconut yielded interesting results and continued with renewed vigor this year.  This trip’s Coconut Discovery yielded Coconut Flan from Maui Brewing Company. Note:  Goes very well with Coconut Porter, also made by Maui Brewing Company. May need to re-visit the establishment to double-check Quality Control, but my first impression is that it’s absolutely delicious.
    3. More Coconut: the Gazebo at Napili Shores is a must-visit field office inspection site. Taste-tested the Coconut Pancakes with Macadamia Nuts, Pineapple and White Chocolate Chips. Topped with Coconut Syrup. Unfortunately, the dish was inhaled before we remembered to take the Evidence Photo for our files. Will have to return to the Gazebo on our next visit to rectify that.
    4. Surfing Goat Cheese: The seemingly top-secret mountain location was difficult to find; “Gigi’s” internal smell/radar was indispensable for honing in on the goat herds. Her unique Goat Call was also helpful (“I WANT my GOAT CHEEEEEESE!”), but stress-inducing. Once we arrived at the destination, copious amounts of taste-testing resulted in rapturous and loud exclamations proclaiming the spectacular deliciousness of the product. We also participated in hand-feeding of the young goats (code name: “kids”) and were satisfied that the end product was the best we’ve ever sampled. (See Exhibit B).

Personnel:

    1. Miss Gigi is remarkably resourceful, a very hard worker, respected by her peers (who are all, without exception, 6 or more years older than she and quite amazed at her abilities) and possesses a stellar reputation among various and sundry service personnel working at a wide variety of restaurants, bars, retail establishments and cafes throughout the greater Lahaina area.

Conclusion:

  1. Our Offshore (Maui) Location presents itself as beautifully as ever and runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible in the capable hands of Miss “Gigi.” Next inspection is scheduled at the Home office; we are expecting her in-person report at our annual Thanksgiving meeting, to be held on the mainland. Details to come.
